Actually listen to your girlfriend

            A simple way to impress a girl is to actually listen to her!  After a few dates with a girl they always tell me I’m a great listener and most guys don’t pay attention to them.  Listening comes naturally to me and gives me an edge up on the competition.  If you want to impress a girl you are starting to date or your long term girlfriend/wife, be engaged in what she is telling you. 

            Most likely you don’t pay full attention since girls love to turn a 5 minute talk into an hour.  She could just say her co-worker was a real dick today and get on to a new topic but she will most likely go into super details at which is the point you start tuning out.  You better not tune out because eventually she will know your not paying attention when she switches topics and your usually reply of, “yea, oh yea, etc, won’t work anymore.

            Here’s what you do to make sure you don’t get bored and tune out.  Make a game of the conversation and turn it almost into an inside joke for yourself.  I recently saw a South Park episode where the characters were trying to impress girls with their listening skills.  During the whole conversation all they would ever say were lines like the one below.

“I never thought of it that way before, please tell me more”

“That’s very interesting, can you go into more detail”

“That’s amazing”

“Wow, I just love listening to you talk”

            You can come up with more on your own, but you should be able to get the jist of it.   I thought the South Park episode was hilarious so to keep me interested in conversations with girls I make a joke of the conversation by using all the above lines.  The game is to see how far you can go with it.  As long as you don’t come off completely retarded…using the above lines will make it seem like you are really listening but instead your just entertaining your self.
